Guides
The marks are not all the same. Neither are the tools.
Start with the two flagship explainers if you want the mechanism. The shorter guides answer a single long-tail question without promising more than Gifi can do.
Long-tail guides
- What C2PA Content Credentials areC2PA Content Credentials are a signed provenance record stored in metadata. Stripping them removes the local label. Soft binding can still re-link to a remote manifest.
- How to remove EXIF and GPS from photosEXIF and XMP store camera, time and often GPS coordinates inside a photo. Gifi strips those fields from JPEG, PNG and WebP without re-encoding the image.
- How to clean metadata from a PDFPDFs store author, dates and XMP in the info dictionary, and sometimes a C2PA credential. Gifi clears those fields and rebuilds the file so the old metadata is not recoverable.
- When to rewrite text, and when to strip a fileClaude’s SynthID-Text mark lives in word choice and needs a rewrite. C2PA, EXIF and invisible Unicode live in bytes you can delete. Gifi keeps those jobs separate.
- Invisible Unicode characters vs statistical watermarksZero-width spaces, tag characters and byte-order marks can hide in text and be deleted. Claude’s SynthID-Text watermark is a pattern in word choice and needs a rewrite.
