# Terms of Service

These terms govern your use of Gifi. By using the service you agree to them. If you do not, do not use the service.

## 1. Who we are

These terms are between you and RELOAD TECHNOLOGIES - FZCO, the operator of Gifi.

## 2. What the service does

We detect and remove invisible Unicode characters, punctuation patterns, homoglyphs and file metadata from content you submit. We also provide a writing-style heuristic and an optional text-rewriting feature.

## 3. What we do not promise

This is the most important section, so we have not buried it. We report results in two categories and you should treat them differently:

- **Verifiable.** Characters removed and metadata fields cleared. We name each one and you can independently confirm the result.
- **Best-effort.** The writing-style score and any rewriting. These are heuristics.

Specifically, we do **not** represent that:

- content processed here will pass or fail any third party’s AI detector. Vendors publish neither their detectors nor their keys, so no tool — ours or anyone else’s — can honestly certify this;
- removing a mark means the content was not AI-generated or AI-assisted. It does not;
- every trace is removed. C2PA soft binding can survive a metadata strip and re-link to a remote manifest. Pixel-embedded image watermarks, audio and video are out of scope entirely.

## 4. Acceptable use

You may use the service only on content you own or are authorised to process. You must not use it to:

- commit academic misconduct, or misrepresent authorship where a person or institution is relying on that representation;
- evade a legally required AI-disclosure obligation — including California **SB 942** (AI Transparency Act) and **Article 50 of the EU AI Act**, which require certain AI-generated content to be disclosed or machine-readably marked;
- circumvent a platform’s disclosure rules or terms where you have agreed to them;
- create or launder material that is unlawful, deceptive, or intended to impersonate a real person or organisation;
- process content belonging to someone else without their permission.

Where disclosure is required, preserve it or add it. Removing a technical mark does not remove a legal obligation, and using this service does not transfer that obligation to us.

## 5. Accounts, credits and billing

Paid plans and credit packs are billed through Stripe. Subscription quotas reset each billing period; purchased credits do not expire with a period reset. Failed processing jobs are refunded to your credit balance automatically. You can cancel at any time from the billing portal; cancellation takes effect at the end of the current period and we do not refund partial periods unless required by law.

## 6. Your content

Text you paste on the home page stays in your browser until you continue. Rewriting then sends that text to a model provider. Files you upload are stored only as long as needed to process them and to let you download the result, then deleted — see the [privacy policy](https://gifi.ai/privacy) for retention periods. We do not use your content to train models.

## 7. Availability and liability

The service is provided “as is”, without warranties of any kind. To the maximum extent permitted by law, our aggregate liability is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim. We are not liable for consequences arising from how you use processed content, including any regulatory, academic or contractual consequence.

## 8. Termination

We may suspend or terminate accounts that breach section 4. We may also apply rate limits or refuse processing where we reasonably suspect abuse.

## 9. Changes

We may update these terms. Material changes will be notified by email or in-product before they take effect.
