# Gifi > Disturb Claude’s text watermark, or clean hidden marks. Claude’s watermark lives in word choice, not hidden characters. Rewrite the prose to change that trail, or strip invisible Unicode and file credentials you can actually delete. Gifi is a web tool at https://gifi.ai. Rewriting changes the words so a statistical trail such as Claude’s SynthID-Text mark is no longer the original sequence. Cleaning deletes invisible Unicode and file credentials (EXIF, XMP, C2PA, document properties) that actually sit in the bytes. ## Limits - Gifi cannot certify Anthropic’s detector. SynthID-Text uses a private key; we cannot see it. - C2PA soft binding can survive a metadata strip and re-link to a remote manifest. - Pixel-embedded image watermarks, audio, and video are out of scope. - A rewrite does not prove human authorship, and it does not remove a disclosure the law or a platform requires. ## Pages - [Gifi — disturb Claude’s text watermark, or clean hidden marks](https://gifi.ai/index.md): What the product does, and what it will not claim - [How Claude’s text watermark works](https://gifi.ai/how-ai-text-watermarks-work.md): SynthID-Text, explained - [How file watermarks work](https://gifi.ai/how-file-watermarks-work): C2PA, EXIF, XMP and document properties are signed or written metadata. They can be stripped. Soft binding can survive. - [Guides](https://gifi.ai/guides): Short explainers on C2PA, EXIF, PDF metadata, rewrite vs strip, and invisible Unicode. - [FAQ](https://gifi.ai/faq): What Claude’s watermark, file credentials, credits and Gifi’s limits actually mean. - [About Gifi](https://gifi.ai/about): Gifi is operated by RELOAD TECHNOLOGIES - FZCO. Two tools, and a short list of things we will not claim. - [Pricing](https://gifi.ai/pricing.md): Plans, credits, and top-ups - [API reference](https://gifi.ai/docs.md): Endpoints, keys and limits - [Terms of Service](https://gifi.ai/terms.md): Acceptable use and what we do not promise - [Privacy Policy](https://gifi.ai/privacy.md): What we keep, and for how long - [What C2PA Content Credentials are](https://gifi.ai/guides/c2pa-content-credentials): C2PA Content Credentials are a signed note attached to a file, not a pattern in the pixels. Claude and other tools write them so a later reader can see that a model was involved. Gifi can strip the embedded credential from images and documents. Soft binding can survive that strip and re-link to a remote manifest. - [How to remove EXIF and GPS from photos](https://gifi.ai/guides/exif-gps-photo-metadata): EXIF is a block of metadata most cameras and phones write into a photo: camera model, timestamps, and often a GPS coordinate. XMP is a related Adobe packet that can duplicate that history. Gifi removes EXIF, XMP and comments from JPEG, PNG and WebP without re-encoding the pixels. ICC colour profiles stay. - [How to clean metadata from a PDF](https://gifi.ai/guides/pdf-document-metadata): A PDF keeps an info dictionary and often an XMP packet: author, creator software, dates, and sometimes a C2PA Content Credential. Deleting those keys in place is not enough — leftover objects stay in the bytes. Gifi clears the fields and rebuilds the file so the old metadata is not sitting in an unused stream. - [When to rewrite text, and when to strip a file](https://gifi.ai/guides/rewrite-vs-strip): Use a rewrite when the mark is statistical — Claude’s SynthID-Text trail lives in the words the model chose. Use a strip when the mark is in the file: C2PA credentials, EXIF, XMP, document properties, or invisible Unicode. Gifi will not pretend one credit does both jobs, because they have different costs and different standards of proof. - [Invisible Unicode characters vs statistical watermarks](https://gifi.ai/guides/invisible-unicode-characters): Invisible Unicode — zero-width spaces, tag characters, bidi overrides, a byte-order mark — is a real payload you can list and delete. Claude’s watermark is not that. SynthID-Text never adds a character; it changes which ordinary word was chosen. Gifi shows the deletable marks for free on the home page. Disturbing the statistical trail is a rewrite.
